Benny Benassi fails to impress me

So I queued up his album in Winamp. Satisfaction is fun, but there's one minor problem with his album: every single other song sounds almost exactly like Satisfaction, except the spoken words get replaced with a few more saucy/kinky phrases.

Yawn.

Let's not forget side talkin'

This was something I meant to post that never got circulated. You've probably seen the ads for Nokia's N-Gage device, which has a cool idea: a decent cell phone that can be turned sideways for portable gaming action with integrated wireless multiplayer. In fact, the idea was friggin' awesome. The sad part is that Nokia designed a horrible game system, and as a result the games for it are horrible. What's even dumber is that when you make a call on the phone, the speaker and microphone are placed on adjacent corners of the phone, so when you're talking you have to hold the phone sideways in order to hear and be heard on the other end. The result? Side talkin'.

It's the flavor of the week, and that's because my brain is a little bit rewired due to finals week right here at UT. As you scroll down the page, it gets obvious pretty quickly that the idea gets way out of hand. But that's what makes it hilarious, especially at 10:30PM during dead days.

So I'm 19

And I feel a smidge older. My celebrations were pretty spread out, since my birthday fell on a day I'd be away from home (mommy was sad) and right in the middle of the week. I got a copy of Mario Kart while I was still at home for Thanksgiving, and mommy took me guitar shopping for all of 10 minutes before she lost her sanity in Guitar Center. Upon getting back here, I was given a notebook filled with guitar tabs (and a burned CD with the appropriate songs), some cookies, brownies, a fun pair of boxers, a Gamecube controller, and a cone of ice cream following the awesome party that happened Friday night. 15 people crammed into a tiny Chinese restaurant is a really chaotic and fun time.

And the ice cream. Oh man. A few people suggested a place here on campus called Cold Stone, which isn't far off from Marble Slab back in A-town. The difference is that this ice cream is *insanely* rich and there are a few more interesting things to mix in. I had the following concoction: chocolate ice cream, mixed with chocolate chips, a crushed brownie, and topped with fudge. Yeah. It's still amazing 24 hours later.

And after that there was much insanity watching Super Mario speedrun videos (mixed with a few stranger vids) and lots of Family Guy. Thanks to everyone who made it a great time!

Oh, and I got some cash. I'll probably get that R9800 I've been wanting, or a fourth Gamecube controller and Mario Party 5. Who knows.
